Importance of Gas Collector Main Pressure Control:
Excessively high pressure in the gas collector main will lead to overpressure inside carbonization chambers, resulting in smoke and flame leakage from oven doors, environmental pollution, and adverse impacts on chemical by-product recovery.
Unduly low pressure in the gas collector main will create negative pressure within carbonization chambers. For one thing, gas cross-leakage will occur between carbonization chambers and combustion chambers, shortening the service life of coke ovens. For another, it will raise the ash content of coke, reduce the recovery rate of chemical by-products and the calorific value of coke oven gas. In addition, raw coke oven gas will burn and cause temperature rise, increasing the load of the subsequent gas cooling system.
The main factors affecting gas collector main pressure include coal charging operation, reversing procedure, and high-pressure ammonia water cleaning work.
Two EJA120 micro differential pressure transmitters are installed on each gas collector main, with one serving as standby. Their signals are transmitted to the DCS system simultaneously. This arrangement enables real-time verification of pressure signal accuracy. Meanwhile, automatic switching between the working and standby transmitters improves the reliability of signal acquisition and allows maintenance and calibration of transmitters without operational interruption.
Imported Rotork electric actuators are adopted for gas collector mains.
Two high-pressure ammonia water pumps are equipped with Shanghai Heping inverters. The maximum pressure of high-pressure ammonia water during normal coal charging can reach 3.7 MPa.
